Building your Business in 2020

The business economy is brimming with the promise of change as we head into a new decade. The new year opens new doors and creates opportunities for businesses to revamp, reinvent and re-imagine what their business could look like. BBB® is excited to partner with local businesses in this endeavor.

Consider some of the following tips as you plan to brainstorm with your team and build your business’ future.

Get organized

Organization can often be the key to less stress and can put your business on the right track to accomplish your goals. You can start small by organizing your desk or start big and tackle your cloud storage.

Don’t be afraid to create yourself a timeline with a deadline for you to complete these tasks. Though organizing can often feel mundane, it gives you and your staff the opportunity to clear some room for new ideas and start the new year in a clean and organized space.

Schedule internal brainstorms

Your team’s insights are valuable. As your leadership teams are forming a roadmap for the new year, don’t hesitate to pull in all staff members for internal brainstorm sessions on all things planning for the new year. However, send out notes ahead of time with instructions, on what to pre-prep and bring to the meeting. This will ensure productive brainstorms if you do this consistently.

Employees experience your business and customers in a variety of ways and can often provide valuable feedback for your business. You can encourage your team to share ideas and processes about marketing, retention and operations that can help you better your business.

If you are a small business owner, entrepreneur or start-up, you can still practice brainstorming. Try reaching out to a trusted mentor or business coach for advice as you plan, you can find planning resources by visiting the link below to help you through this process, BuildWithBBB.com
